This kinda thing was commonplace back in the day.
Not really speaking on the military, but girls would always have their "college boyfriends" take them to prom and/or homecoming.
For the most part, no one really thought much of it because...........in a lot of cases..........the college boyfriends were former students at the same high school and had been with the girls while they were still enrolled in high school.
Now, the ones who weren't former students..............
They were kind of given the side eye, but no real repercussions.
Hard to believe anything like that would fly today.
