DMX had beef with K Solo over this, said K Solo stole it off him...
'This was a diss record towards Hit Squad member K-Solo. DMX and K-Solo were in jail together at Suffolk County Facility. They had a battle together, where DMX claims he used his Spellbound rapping style. K-Solo was released from prison first, and he would drop the song “Spellbound”. This angered DMX, who claims to be the originator of the style. When X was released from jail, he recorded his own version of Spellbound, and made multiple records dissing K-Solo for biting his style. Eventually the beef died down, until DMX blew up on the rap scene in 1997, and released his first hit “Get At Me Dog”, in the third verse he takes another shot at K-Solo, which is edited out.'
