To be fair, there's about 40 rap songs that came out in 1979 and most of them are pretty terrible.

The best rap records from 1979 are (in order);

1. Rappers Delight - Sugarhill Gang
2. Christmas Rappin - Kurtis Blow
3. Rappin & Rockin The House - Funky 4+1
4. Superrapin - Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5
5. Spoonin Rap - Spoonie G

The rest of the rap records from 1979 are basically disco beats with cliche rhymes.
