He had a part in it but the feds going at murda inc is the main reason ja career was ended
Yes the feds are a factor but i feel they could've bounced back from that if Murder inc got the same love as G unit or the Roc

And then once Em and shady records started piling on Ja it was overwhelming. He didn't bounce back from getting jumped

Ja was all alone. Cadilac Tah and Black Child couldn't help him.

And Ashanti had hits, but she couldn't help him win a rap battle.

Ja & Murda Inc faced the FEDS, 50 Cent, G-Unit, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Shady Records, Aftermath Records, fans wanting something new, Busta Rhymes, D-12, Obie Trice.

They had no chance.

I think what hurt Ja the most is that he just wasn't that great of a rapper.

He was good at making hits, but as far as spitting hot 16s, he wasn't even top 10 of his era.

that's true. The hitmakers have a hard time adjusting whime the rappers that make hits always find a way to rely on their rapping abilities. Nelly, Ja, Fetty...they've all struggled to adapt. No matter how great their career is

I feel like Fetty shouldn't even be mentioned in that equation. Nelly had a hell of run but u can't beat time and music changing. Fetty got bypassed by young dudes that did what he could do better

yeah, he's not in that class but he had his run too. Hit-wise.

Ja ended his own career when he did that grease re make video

the narrative is always it was fifty or it was fifty and the feds…but from what i seem to remember at the time, ppl were already turning on ja rule in 01. before i had ever heard a gunit mixtape i had the impression the “streets” just viewed ja rule as dmx jr, and it also appeared as if jay z had already been distancing himself from murder inc

i routinely remember people getting clowned for playing ja rule outside, and again this was before fifty cents resurgence…but i seem to be in the minority with my recollection

tl:dr ja rule was already on the downturn before fifty cent came around/established himself
