Appreciate it family.Definitely gonna give this a spin lil bro
Appreciate it brother. Hoping for the best. You know I got you.
Got a two hour drive coming up. I’ll check it out then
LMAO much respect Lab, you been rocking with me since the IC so I appreciate the support. My apologies for not mentioning it man. And for sure this project meant alot to me. My next project I'm actually investing alot into because I believe it's one of my better ones but ego was created when I was in a dark place man.Kanye once described Dilla's beats as "good pussy". This is what I imagine Zendaya's must feel like. Fire as usual... feels like a religious experience of a recovering narcissist.
Thanks. I've been studying narcissism lately... the title, the different drum/sound changes and especially the Kirk Franklin sample put two and two together for me. Speaking of which, fire sample choice. It feels like that was the center piece to the whole project. My hot take on that as it relates to the project: A lot of ppl quickly jumped on the son in that situation. Ppl don't realize how much damage a parent can do to an adult child's pride, especially a father to a son. At the end of the day, that's still your child. Being from a broken home and recently going thru some family issues, I see myself walking in a cold dark city looking for answers that my "ego" is blinding me from... an ego created by a broken family system that I have the responsibility of fixing both outside and within. That's my personal experience, but your music has always had that calming abstraction to where any walk of life can have a spiritual experience if they open up to it. Anyone dealing with ego issues right now (I'm pretty sure a time period of worldwide forced isolation will deal out its fair share of those) will definitely have a trip with this joint.Btw @Lab Baby very impressive how spot on you are with explaining the album. Efficent and precise.
Humbling response brother. My whole purpose on creating was basically what this message conveys. Using sounds, and samples without being blessed to sing or rap is honestly a safe haven for my forms of expression, of how I see the world, personal issues I'm going through, and things I'm passionate about.Thanks.
