Prostitutes are highly stigmatized for the work they do, and those who condemn this work believe that it is shameful and immoral, and has no place in a just social order. Others believe it is a necessary evil, in that if men (primarily) could not satisfy their sexual urges through some form of commoditized sexual service, these urges would find a more socially disruptive outlet. Some feminists argue that prostitution is a relic from older patriarchal societies in which men’s access to the bodies of subordinates was a privilege and expression of men’s social power.

Sure why not, IMO it's a victim less crime anyway. Women selling something that men are willing to buy so let them be without the fear of being arrested and ridiculed

This is what I've been doing on the side. Its not legal in my state but I file my taxes as an independent physiotherapist, don't get questions since nobody suspects a man is a gigolo.
 
Sex work is one of the oldest hustles.
I do think it should be legalized in regards to decriminalization. Sex workers face persecution, violence, trauma and stigma. johns or "sex buyers" are also demonized and face stiff fines if "caught" in the act. Through legalization, sex workers and buyers would be protected by the state.

Now there's a downside to legalization. Sex work, the act of making a profit from ones own body and sexual prowess, is based on autonomy and agency. A persons freedom to have sex in exchange for money, gifts or other necessities is just that ...A freedom. when you legalize something it comes with limitations. It's taxed, there are rules, and it is commodified. Especially in a capitalistic society, you run the risk of people being expolited and the overall revenue that sex workers receive would reduce drastically. Cheap labor > cheap profit, so on and so forth.
Furthermore, I don't know if I would want the state to own a persons body. I don't know if I would want the state to say what a person can or cannot do with their own body. That's fucking weird to me.

Also an upside to sex work is that it blurs the lines of capitalism. Like drug dealing, it's an economic system within capitalism that is profitable and sustainable.
 
Making it legal would help protect men and women by having laws created for them. They'd be able to operate with a client whole not having to worry about going to jail. It should also be so only a specific age like 21 which would also crackdown on young girls being kidnapped and forced to do it. With legal action abuse could be hindered severely. Pimps who take advantage of people would no longer be allowed to do that.
 
It should be a taxed profession, but there's no way to regulate it
 
I agree with the legalization and age requirement but then some young person would want to go pro straight out of high school. It would end up in the Supreme Court. Or should it just be the age of consent in that state, which would have young people changing addresses to get it in early.
 
It's their body let them get ran through if they want too, unless it's a child. Soon as she turn 18 though, that's all on her.
