What's your favorite song?

I remember buying this album at Target after I got out of school. Came home saw it was nothing but 9-11 coverage on every damn station so I put the cd in the player and zoned out for a few hours.

Takeover was the top joint

I thought this thread was gonna be about Fabs debut album.

Shout out to Nate Dogg King of Hooks

Man I got some unpopular opinions about this album. Let me know if yall follow.

To me Jay is one of the best emcees ever, and he was in his prime on the Blueprint.

Also, the Blueprint is my 2nd or 3rd favorite Jay Z album and one of my favorite albums ever.

With that said, I always felt like Jay was weak and lazy lyrically at times on this album.

Does anyone agree or is it just me?

i think you on an island with this one

Yea, he was great lyrically throughout the entire album imo. The only song you can say he was lazy is "hola hovito"

Changes with my mood. Ye and Just did they thing on the whole joint

I don't skip anything but I haven't set with it in years

I just went back and listened to "hola hovito" , his 2nd verse was fire. It's "that nigga jigga" that has the weak ass verses.

2nd verse of hola hovito

push perrico if I need to for the rule of evil
Was born in the belly that's the way the streets breed you
One life to live - notice you get no sequel
So I truly got to live this like my last movie
Six oohie, jewels drippin, big toolie
I ball for real, y'all niggaz is Sam Bouie
And with the third pick - I made the earth sick
M.J., hem Jay, fade away perfect

I felt he was lazy lyrically on the rulerā€™s back
seemingly every line was somebody elseā€™s line
