Heartbreaking in a way. I wish some rappers never retired.
I understand someone not wanting to be a rapper at their old age, and we have yet to really see one besides KRS One maybe, who is only 56 Years old. I always thought it would be dope to have a rapper consistently release music despite their age.
They dont even have to necessarily be consistent. Just never officially "retire". How dope would it be if Scarface, who is 51 years old right now, took a break from rapping and continued on with whatever venture he is currently pursuing (last i heard he was getting involved in politics). Then at 65 he releases a whole new album. This wouldnt be the Scarface from 1991, it would be a whole new mature scarface who we watched evolve as a person struggling with depression and suicidal ideation to seeing a good amount of success through his career and getting involved in the politics of his city trying to make change for the better. Then when time goes on and we are all much older and Scarface is no longer with us, we have this huge body of work that we can play from 1989 with the Geto Boys all the way through passed 2030, hearing his growth as a person.
