Classic shit
As for the poll, Ruthless was the vehicle that brought about Death Row, but Death Row did it better...
I think Bad Boy vs. Death Row would make more sense. (Not shitting on the original topic though).
Ruthless vs. Death Row is like the Steve Nash' Suns against Shaq & Kobe's Lakers.
I wonder when they recorded Thug Luv. Any story to that song? Art of war dropped 1997
Nah, it's not that lopsided
Ruthless had an all-star line up. When they had NWA, DOC and JJ Fad they were basically Death Row before Death Row.
And don't laugh at JJ Fad. I grew up in Massachusetts and Supersonic was huuuuge. The cheerleaders at my high school had a routine to Supersonic.
I remember in 11th grade people were arguing over who was more gangsta between The Geto Boys vs Above The Law. I had never heard any of their music but I knew of NWA and the people at the lunch table were saying that NWA's music was tame compared to Above The Law and Geto Boys.
Bizzy said they did the song couple days b4 the vegas shooting.
Whether you agree or not***, in the grand scheme of things: Dr. Dre is considered to be the greatest producer of all time, Snoop is bordeline the face of West Coast music, Tupac is on most people's Mt. Rushmore, Kurupt is always mentioned when talking about west coast lyricists, Daz is a legendary producer as well. Nate Dogg, regardless of where he was signed contractually, is Death Row's own and considered the greatest hookman ever.
Ruthless with NWA & Bone, they win the group battle ouf of those two labels BUT it's quiet for the rest. Dogg Pound > BG & Dre'sta. Lady Of Rage > JJ Fad (i won't die on that hill but still, lol)
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, Suge > Jerry Heller
*** not saying your opinion is not valid, not at all but let's not argue about if you think Primo is the GOAT or Nas is the GOAT etc...the names i've mentioned are unequivocally in the conversation.
yup, i'm not mad at that argument at all. You gotta give the nod to Ruthless. CLEARLY with NWA.Everything you said is true, but it could be argued that NWA is the absolute greatest Rap group of all time, (I'm not making that argument, but it could be made) and they were on Ruthless.
