Party and Bullshit was a disappointment. There was this huge hype because Biggie won Unsigned Hype in The Source. Then he drpped this turd.

Party and Bullshit is the reason Puffy got fired from Uptown.

I voted for Tribe
 
It was a cool song and it did its job in terms of introducing Big to the mainstream as his first solo record.

Big's first record was Party & Bullshit. It was a flop. There was no video and Puffy got fired from Uptown because of it. He had been hyping up Biggie so they gave him a chance and he drops Party & Bullshit.

Let's be honest with each other As far as the songs that got nominated for the 1993 tournament, Party & Bullshit is the weakest link.

The Beatnuts and Digable Planets had hotter singles than Party & Bullshit

There needs to be an expectation in order to be disappointed with something. That was nothing to be disappointed about cuz that was his first song.

There was an expectation because he won the Unsigned Hype in The Source.

And Party & Bullshit is why Puffy got canned from Uptown. The song was an instant flop while Dre and Snoop shut down NYC for a couple of years.

There was hype surrounding Biggie. The way The Source Unsigned Hype made it sound dude was supposed to be extra dope. "Party and Bullshit" simply didn't live up to that. I remember when the shit came out I was extra underwhelmed and wasn't checkin for dude anymore.
 
Fucked up... Talking about Biggie in the Unsigned Hype column made me remember Common Sense was featured there as well. He dropped "Can I Borrow A Dollar" towards the end of '92 and we ain't even put the single "Take It EZ" in that competition.

I'll give u that, Big getting the Unsigned Hype article is a valid reason, but 1 song isn't enough to be truly disappointed.


and cmon fam, u really think 1 song would get a nigga fired? Fired from a place where he was a big reason why their biggest artists blew up? fuck no.

Puff was fired cuz he was wildn in the Uptown offices, getting into fights in the office , acting like he was the boss, etc.
