The first time I saw Half Baked I was still smokin bud all day and it was the peak of my Chappelle standom. I don't think I laughed once.

Classic. Dave never had to make another movie after this and thank god he didn’t.
 
Outside of:

When the dog is “flying” with the terrible green screen

Scarface suggesting the same idea twice and saying “forreal B?”

“this mufucka said Ice cream”

When they ask the guy on the couch if he killed their dog and he shakes his head then goes back to sleep

This movie is wack as shit and not really entertaining to watch
 
It was good. I remember seeing it for the first time. It was well after I was a fan of Chappelle show and I wasn't blown away by it. I enjoyed it but I had better expectations for it.

Years later in podcasts with Neal Brennan he said the script they wrote originally was not meant to be so silly. It wasn't a serious movie, but it wasn't supposed to be so slap stick either, but studio interfered and we got what we got and the experienced made them stay away from doing a movie with a studio again.
