R.I.P. Duke Bootee, The Author Of ‘The Message’

In addition to being a session miucisian at Sugarhill and performing on The Message, Survival and New York, New York, Duke Bootee had at least 1 solo album.

I remember the song Live Wire and my brother won the album in a contest on the radio. The album wasn't that good imo but I'm gonna post a few of the songs I remember.









 
After his solo album, he was affiliated with Beauty and The Beat Records, which was a New Jersey based company.


This song King Kut was pretty big circa 1985/86

Duke Bootee produced it.





This song Coast To Coast was a MONSTER. I was waiting for these guys to drop an album but alas, this was their last song.

Anyway, Duke Bootee produced it.
