Just like the title says, what are some places that you've heard about in songs that you've actually been to.

When you went, was it anything like the artist described in the song?

I remember the first time i heard about Super Sunday in NOLA in a Cash Money song. I had the chance to go when i went to college and that shit was JUST like they were rapping about. It was a huge party that was maybe a 2 mile stretch, maybe longer, but i vividly ALL the damn females out there. They had some BAD chicks out there. And the cars, motorbikes, crawfish, etc...

Easily one of my best college memories. They stopped doing them not too long afterwards b/c i think saltines were starting to complain they couldn't do anything on the lake as Super Sunday was on Easter Sunday.

anyway other places i went to while i lived in NOLA that i heard about in Cash Money/No Limit songs

-3rd ward
-7th ward
-9th ward
-MLK (Fresh said, once you cross MLK, thats ....chopper city)
-Annunciation (Uptown NOLA)
-St. Bernard Projects
-Calliope Projects
-Magnolia Projects

ALL these places at the time when i visited were like they rapped about in the songs. Some cool ass people in those areas too, but during that time, i wouldn't just go there on some site seeing shit if you didnt know anybody. lol

safe to say we've all been to most of the places name dropped in our own states/areas...especially local lol

our biggest hit was Ay Bay Bay and they did that video in front of County Market...........which I would never buy food from ever again in life lmao

and you can go ride thru these hoods they talk about on records but it aint shit happening like that if you aint in the streets or dont know anybody....its literally just a set of houses and pavement to you lol

I guess the closest I can relate to what you're saying is when I went to Houston......felt like I HAD to hit MLK on Sunday night.....had to hit the galleria, etc...

Had an ex that use to bump Three six all the time and when I finally stepped foot in Memphis I was like yeah...these muh fuckas are ratchet especially North Memphis because that's where my daughter's father is from. They actually are as hood as these songs make them out to be, it's actually crazy.

Anyway, I ended up living in Memphis for some years and my daughter is from Memphis.

Damn near everywhere a Houston Rapper rapped about regarding the city.

I remember visiting the Pork and Beans projects from First 48.

Great topic... always heard about the "Compton Swap meet" from the West Coast artists. Actually went there a couple of years ago before it closed down and it did not disappoint. Not that it matters but I was surprised that a lot of the stalls were run by Korean dudes...haha.
