NXT Thread (6/18)

Former ROH TV Champion Dragon Lee is backstage at today's WWE NXT taping at the Performance Center, PWInsiderElite.com can exclusively confirm.

We are told Lee arrived at the facility about an hour ago having just moved to Orlando this week with his family to officially kick off his WWE tenure. One would expect that Lee could be introduced as early as tonight on WWE NXT Roadblock so they can get him onto the Stand and Deliver lineup Wrestlemania 39 weekend in Los Angeles, CA.

Lee, 27, was a multi-time champion in Mexico's CMLL and is considered one of the best luchadors in the world.

In Japan, he won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. In January of 2019, Lee signed with Ring of Honor, where he held the TV and Tag Team titles. He was with the promotion until Sinclair Broadcast Group shuttered it and sold the company to Tony Khan. Lee made several post-ROH appearances in AEW but was quickly written out of the promotion after being turned on by his brother, Rush.

It was announced during last December at the Lucha Libre AAA Noche de Campeones PPV in Acapulco that Lee had officially signed with WWE. Since then, Lee and WWE were waiting for his work visa paperwork to be completed. PWInsider.com is told that process was finalized in recent days.
