Welcome To aBlackWeb

Monday Night Raw: 5/20

They sent him out there to try and get the main event that fans wanted before Cody was in the picture. A main event that doesn't need the title. Unfortunately, the fans are more invested in Cody finishing his story and winning the title since that's what we've seen for 2 years.

Cody did damage control because he warned the company beforehand that the reaction was going to be bad. Which it was.

The plan after Rock showed up was going to be Cody vs Seth. Roman was going to go over and eventually break Hogan's record.

TKO were entirely willing to blow up a year's worth of build up for the sake of box office, bigger sponsorship deals and appealing to casuals during their most watched event. Hope that helps.
Yeah that wasn't going to happen. So Rock who grew up in the business couldn't see the bad idea that'd be huh. Yeah the fans will love me for screwing over their chosen babyface for literally no reason.

Roman didn't even do anything to provoke Rock showing up. No heel beat downs, no gaslighting, nothing to facilitate the Rocks appearance. They had the Rock literally steal Cody's spotlight and no one knew what the outcome would be? Not Roman, Not Rock, Not Heyman (!), Not Hunter. No one huh. People love movies where the protagonist is replaced in the third act before the Climax right?

The Rock wasn't just waltzing in to fight Roman with no story. He built the match with Cena for over a year. He turned down the Mania match last year because the story wasn't right even though it was a much better set up. The plan they've executed has set up a long term arc that will benefit Rock, Roman, their future match up, and giving Cody greater adversity to overcome to "finish his story". None of this is coincidence.

The same Dwayne that tried to politic Black Adam into fighting Superman for some reason before ever confronting Shazam?

Who do you think he is?

The shit was illogical and they had to pivot from it because everyone knew how dumb it was. The Rock very easily could have faced Roman on night 1 without Cody giving up his spot.

It doesn't have to be this hard to understand or come to terms with.

There were rumors that Dwayne had a clause in his black Adam contract that he had to be like a tweener when the character has always been a villain.

He bodied Shazam outta the paint, true story , and wanted to face Superman in a future movie cause he felt the Shazam actor wasn’t big enough to warrant Black Adam appearing in the Shazam sequel.

What we doin here

They blew up creative plans before or did you ignore me saying that? The tickets for Mania were already sold. The Rock was going to secure more viewers and more sponsorships. Having Cody go through all of this just for the Rock to waltz in before the Rumble and reference "the head of the table" knowing what the plans were is dumb no matter how it's sliced. They were running heat checks repeatedly since last year.

Corporate took a shot and missed but creative recovered it in time and still kept Rock in the picture whilst cooking Seth's main event plans even further.

Again, I promise it's not the big brain play you think it is.
So. The Rock... Someone whose public image is so finely crafted that he's regularly floated as a potential presidential candidate...

He agreed to an angle that would assuredly make him look bad. Then in a "pivot" he agreed to change his entire character to play a heel and create an entirely new story over the course of 1 weekend? And this story will in all likelihood result in the same Rock and Roman match that would have to be negotiated all over again. You think Rock who infamously has a no-lose clause in his contract would just agree to this shit on the fly.

You think the 30 million dollars and board position didn't include more concrete terms and conditions? "OH wait no you don't have to face Roman anymore, we can just figure something else for you to do"

His last wrestling appearance contract clearly outlined the 5 events he would wrestle on and exactly how many appearances he would have (both in person and on tape) including who he was putting over but this time it can just be left to chance. So when does he fight Roman? That shit is just left for another day. Like nah man. You got worked, leave them dirtsheets alone next time.

He looked bad already after Black Adam bombed, the politicking he tried to do with Superman, him politicking his way into a producing credit for the League of Super Pets and his relationship with DC was publicly on thin ice and they gave him his marching orders.

He's only back with the WWE to try and save face and have the biggest match possible and it would have come at Cody's expense.

Again, who do you think he is?

He's back in WWE for 30 million in stocks. Of course it's a PR move just like last time he came back to relaunch his movie career as an action hero. I'm saying it's a much more calculated PR move than yall making it out to be. They didn't luck into 200 Million views (and counting) dawg.

Nakamura needed that win way more than Sami

I do think that it just plays part to a bigger story for Zayn though. He'll eventually overcome and win the big on idk who itll be against or when but itll happen this year

Having him lose 2 in a row is nasty. I have a feeling he's getting into that Mania WHC match somehow.

that could be it

Especially w/ him and Drew beefing so hard and we already know hes in

this mania might have the most multi man matches when u consider that the RAW womens title match could easily become a triple threat too
