Miguel Auditions For Fatty Koo In 2005, Gets Mocked By Members

Be careful who you diss and never take no for an answer because where there's a will there's a way - especially for your dreams. Look at how their careers turned out. Half these groups wouldn't know singing if it hit them in the ass.

Drake got turned down by Defjam and Interscope. Shawna of DTP refused to be on Gold Digger with Jamie Foxx because she didn't want "no jingle" which was a shot to him if anyone remembers the Jamie Foxx show, it was originally supposed to be her song and she asked to be taken off. This was when she was hot shit over the Getting Some Head song. Song turned out to be the biggest song Kanye had at that point and broke he and Foxx's careers definitively.

Some things aren't as obvious to the untrained eye.

couple of things...the Drake that got turned down by DefJam and Interscope wasnt the Drake of today, and thats been documented. He changed his whole style up by the time he met Taz Prince

You dont think "Slow Jamz" broke Jamie back into the industry? That was his first song in what...a decade since his first album? He dropped Infatuation shortly after, and the rest is history...but yea...Shawna was tripping, but thats probably b/c she didnt see the vision

Well yeah that's why it's not obvious to everyone. With artist development and a few hits later THEN it becomes apparent. But you have to take the gamble to see if they'll meet expectations and you could lose millions. Hindsight is 20/20 LOLOL it was impossible to tell what Drake would become. Especially as a goofy light skin nigga from Canada trying to sing and rap in the midst of the 50 Cent/G-Unit, Game, Jeezy, T.I., Lil Wayne trap era of music. Even Kanye blowing up was a miracle. Peep what 9th Wonder said about Ye

Slow Jams was a dope song but it wasn't enough for people to take Jamie seriously because the style of it. But Gold Digger forced labels to take him seriously after he charted worldwide. Foxx said that song opened the doors for labels to give him that "big ass album budget". Shawna was just in her zone, a lot of ppl fronted on Foxx. But look at how their careers turned out in contrast.
agreed

It's like the NBA, Kobe Bryant was the 13th draft pick during the 96 draft I think being chosen by the Hornets if I'm not mistaken, Iverson was the 1st pick to Philly. But look at how their careers compare. Five years later Kobe and Shaq would later defeat the Sixers in the finals 4-1.

Kobe should have been the first pick but it wasn't obvious back then as it later became. Thats the risk people take all the time.

no no and no lol

im not gon even dignify this with a response

But fam I wanted AI to win it I prayed all week fam. Niggas gonna hate me for this but I always liked AI better. Nigga I thought I was AI LOLOLOLOL. We had the jerseys the braids the shoes. AI was like us and gave no fucks. He was our type of player.

Charlotte got finessed by the Lakers. I think if Kobe stayed with Charlotte, he doesnt have the career he does

Gold Digger might have broke Jamie's career but, Ye was already a star w/ the year he had before Gold Digger dropped.

I don't agree that Kanye blowing up was a miracle. For 1, as much of a dick as he is, he's very talented. Second, his music was very different from what was out at the time and, for many, was a breath of fresh air. Lastly, he had a cosign from and relationship with Jay, which really meant a lot at the time.

That's not always obvious in the beginning is what I'm saying. Ironically Jay-Z first laughed at the idea of him rapping and told him to stick to producing. It was Dame Dash after months and months of being pestered did he give Kanye a shot.

Sometimes in business you get met with moments where you can take a chance to be different or follow what has worked or trendy at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 It's easy to say we saw it in Kanye AFTER he made the hits and success but it's not in the beginning. At least not to everyone. We've all had the girl we fronted on in high school who later turned blossomed into THE sexy ass chick in college we all later chased LOLOLOL

I feel you. I'm not saying I would have called Kanye becoming the star he has. I'm just pointing out that by the time he really became successful, he pretty much had everything in place to push him to that point. He didn't just come out of nowhere.
