Memories

If you were given the opportunity to have access to your full memory bank, from being baby to now, would you take it?

If you could watch those same memories on a separate screen; chromecast, roku, apple TV, etc., would you?

I don't know. Our ability to forget is a big part of us being able to forgive and move on.
I've seen a thing on this person that could recall everything that ever happened to them. They lived a miserable life.
They could recall all there worst memories like it was yesterday.

Or look at the black mirror episode you stole this from. They would obsess over the smallest details of an argument, to the point you lose the purpose of the discussion.

Seems like a curse more then a gift.

There's nothing new under the sun

Besides remembering facts and details of objects like a photographic memory I don't see the good it serves

I probably would

there's so much shit we forget or store in there somewhere

good or bad, so much shit is fuzzy and it would be cool to see it clearly from where I am now

if things werent currently ok for me, I probably wouldnt feel the same

but im not afraid or ashamed of any bad memories or hard times I had, they all made me

yeah, no real purpose.....it would just be interesting

im looking for counseling rn and have been talking a LOT about the past and trying to piece things together and get to the root of certain issues

something like this would make that task a breeze, then we could move forward

Do you think it would become an obsession and you would live in the past?

A agree with reconciling with the past, but it's less of what exactly happened more to do with feelings. In my opinion

nah....from what i thought t/s was saying....this is just a way to VIEW all your memories

you cant change shit or intervene....just watch your life

so nah, I wouldnt dwell on it or get stuck on any particular part

I guess you're right about the feelings....but I dont think that could be recorded or brought back to life

how I felt about something back then isnt how I would feel watching it as my current self.....i'll probably laugh

"way to go jackass!"

Right, so watching it happen again I wouldn't think effect your feelings and that the real point of a therapy session.

At 29 I have about 170,000 hours of memories. I think if I got could watch all of that I would get stuck just watching what happened and not make new memories. But that might just be me. Or replay my day everynight, which isn't productive.

Id put that shit on every night like a fucked up reality show.

I guess it depends on what’s going on

Like buddy did with the interview, I can see replaying that at the end of the day

Id go back n watch the memories I had with the ones i lost over the years family and homies

Id skim through the years as a baby that I dont remember to see what those were like

Watch a couple fights from my childhood

Revisit a few of my past smashes

But yea like @OhMars said that shit could be dangerous cause instead of living to make new memories you'd just be wrapped up in wanting to relive the old ones
