I think it's up there in Nas's top songs list but the best rap record of all time, that's kinda hard to say.

Nas's flow on If I Ruled The World is faster, more complex lyrics, He's sticking to one topic, The beat is a classic Whodini beat, Lauryn is singing the hook..
If I were to pick a "best Hip Hop song of all time" If I Ruled The World would be up there.
The only thing about Made You Look that stands out imo is that people were making commercial records at the time and Made You Look was a Boom Bap record that hardcore Hip Hop fans liked because it wasn't watered down.
I remember Made You Look came out around the same time as Jay Z's Excuse Me Miss (original) and they used to play both videos on the music video channel (MTV2). I can remember me and my friends saying that Jay Z was commercial and Nas was "Real Hip Hop".
Made You Look made a statement because it brought back "Real Hip Hop" whatever that means, but as far as my favorite Nas song, or favorite rap song of all time, it's not even in my top 100.
