Released on March 9th 2010, it was Luda’s 8 studio album. This was originally supposed to be a collaboration project with Shawna but they had a falling out so it became a full Ludacris project instead. This is considered Luda’s worst album, so let’s see…

Track 1. Intro, produced by The Runners. Solid opening track. 6.5/10

Track 2. How Low featuring Shawna, produced by T Minus. This was the first single. I was never a fan of this song but it’s not bad. Apparently this is Luda’s highest selling single. 6.5/10

Track 3. My Chick Bad featuring Nicki Minaj produced by The Traxster. This was the second single. Between “fill her up balloons” and “going down basement” and the dated rhyme schemes. I gotta smh. 5/10

Track 4. Everybody Drunk featuring Lil Scrappy, produced by Bangladesh. This samples 8ball and MJG’s You Don’t Want Drama. This song is solid. Decent verses from everyone involved. 6.5/10

Track 5. I Do It All Night featuring Shawna, produced by B Crucial and Tony Dinero. Solid track. Shawna lowkey outshined him on this imo. 6.5/10

Track 6. Sex Room featuring Trey Songz. Produced by Kajun and was the 3rd single. I like the beat. This would’ve been better if this was a full Trey song with a Luda guest feature instead. Solid song. 7/10

Track 7. I Know You Got a Man featuring Flo Rida and Ester Dean. Produced by Infinity. This beat sounds similar to Lupe’s The Show Goes On. Terrible chorus. Trash beat. So far the worst song on here. 4/10

Track 8. Hey Ho featuring Lil Kim and Fate Wilson. Produced by Khao Cates. I don’t like this song. Trash chorus and trash beat. Waste of a vintage Kim verse. 5/10

Track 9. Party No More featuring Gucci Mane, produced by Bangladesh. This is pretty mid. Not as bad as the previous two songs but that’s not saying much. 5.5/10

Track 10. B.O.T.S featuring Shawna and I-20, produced by The Runners. This is the best song on here so far. Funny concept. 7.5/10

Track 11. Can’t Live With You featuring Monica, produced by Khao Cates and Marcus Allen. Solid track, and Monica did her thing on the chorus. 6.5/10

Track 12. Feelin So Sexy featuring Shawna produced by Gaggie. This has a LL Cool J Doin It vibe but obviously not as good. Not a bad song though. 6/10

Track 13. Tell Me a Secret featuring Ne Yo, produced by Swizz Beatz. Solid track. I’m surprised this is a Swizz track it doesn’t sound like it. 6.5/10

Track 14. My Chick Bad Remix featuring Diamond, Trina and Eve. This song didn’t need a remix. 5.5/10

Track 15. Sexting featuring Pharrell, produced by The Neptunes. This is a bonus track. And to be honest they should’ve kept this. Horrible song. 3.5/10

Track 16. How Low Remix featuring Pitbull and Ciara. Another bonus track. I get why he did a remix but still meh. At least there’s a slight difference in this version. 6/10

Track 17. Rollercoaster featuring Dru Hill and Shawna, produced by Bangladesh. The last bonus track. Solid track. I can’t complain about this one. 6.5/10

Overall this is an average album, and due to the concept of the album it gets repetitive especially when the production is so hit and miss. This was definitely a product of its time a lot of it hasn’t aged well. I don’t think this album is as bad as they made it out to be at all. 6.5/10

I hated this album. Theater of the Mind was such a solid album from start to finish I thought this would deliver. This killed all his momentum as a top rapper.
I never checked for Battle of the Sexes album because it was originally supposed to be a Luda/Shawnna collab album but was switched up to a Luda solo album at the last min.

I did buy Theater of the Mind after listening to the Release Therapy album (which was the start of his drop off imo..) and I wasn't crazy about Theater of the Mind when it came out. By that point it was time for a break.

Release Therapy was such a weird album for Luda. Dude tried some conscious rap which the idea sounded good but the execution was a mixed bag. Shit was successful from what I remember tho.
