Damn... gotta go with the Stylistics
Too bad they didn't write the songs or play their own instruments.
Bottom Line, The Stylistics never had a #1 R&B song.
Kool & The Gang had six #1 R&B songs, but since we're only talking about the top five, these are the ones I've listed. They also have a song called Take My Heart that ranked #17 on the Pop chart and #1 on the R&B charts.
