Keith Murray was one of my favorites from the mid to late nineties era:

- He used his government name

- He was spitting S.A.T. words in his bars but didn't come off corny

- Repped Def Squad to the fullest

- Usually held his own on tracks with Redman

What does this mean

It started with this:



"All you rap niggaz wit ya wack ass lines talking about how high you get, how much weed you smoke, and that crazy space shit that don't make no sense, don't ever speak to me when you see me. Ima have to get on some ole high school shit and start punchin niggas in their face just for living."

That shit was directed at Redman and Keith Murray. Later Prodigy said this on LL Cool J's "I Shot Ya" remix that both him and Murray were on together:



The whole line that Prodigy says is "Some Def kids feeling guilty bout the space shit/The truth hurts baby girl so just face it..." The label had "def" and "space shit" garbled on purpose 'cause they knew it was about Murray and wanted to try to contain the shit.

Red and Keith came to see Mobb Deep over that shit. Murray and 'nem caught up with Mobb Deep and their crew outside The Tunnel nightclub in NYC and got to scrapping which let to Murray scrappin with, and subsequently chasing Prodigy down the street. Prodigy even admitted to gettin knocked out by Murray in that incident on a track but then went on to claim how he was about to shoot him and all that blah blah shit.
