Technically Christians are Jews who accepted Christ as the Messiah.

Jews are people who dont think Christ was the Messiah and are still waiting for the Messiah.

There are people who claim to be Messianic Jews. These are Jews who accept Christ as the Messiah, but still follow Jewish laws like eating Kosher, taking sabbath on Saturdays etc.

The Jews in the Bible are part of that community either through blood or marriage. Believing the Judeo God didn't automatically make you a Jew. Most Christians nowadays are descendants of the Jews. That makes us Gentiles regardless of what we believe. And we can't be accepted into the Jewish community through our following of Jesus because Jewish orthodoxy doesn't accept Jesus.
