Video JCole music caters to the whites? (Mal from budden podcast)

I have never been to a J Cole show,but he's multi platinum off a few singles and albums so he no doubt broke through more than the urban market.

I don't think Cole caters to white ppl in his music though at all

He came up through the Black college tour circuit

While I know he has white fans,I have never randomly saw a white person playing a Cole song.

J Cole came out successful

He was heavily buzzing on the mixtape circuit and already dealing with Jay Z by the time those mixtapes dropped

He sold singles and whole albums off his debut

Cole has never been overlooked IMO

I never looked at him as pop though even with his success

Cole is a dope MC/lyricist who has the backing of Jay Z and a good team.He should be successful

he worded it crazy but I think he meant it was ppl in the middle of the ages of like 18 yr old teens to mid 20's

But it wasn't really said how the title of the thread makes it seem

Mal wasn't hating,just saying that he was surprised by the white ppl at the show

Later they also said Cole brought bad chicks out too.

I assume those were black/latino chicks

I remember there were threads where you had usmarin3 fighting for Cole that one day he'd get his platinum break. They spoke about that in this clip ,as far as the internet painting a picture that wasn't true really

Cole's first album did over 200K and went on to go platinum

IDK where it stands in 2019 though

Who dat flopped,but Work Out was a double platinum single a cant't get Enough went platinum

So off his debut he went basically platinum and sold over 3 million singles

At the time ,in the music industry,that was being successful

He said he didnt understand Cole until he saw all the white kids at the show.

"These are the ppl he caters to. Hes not worried about the hood. Thats how he can sell out these shows."

Sounded like Mal simply dont fuck with Cole music.

I been to a Cole show on Born Sinner tour. Females def come out for Cole but of course they do he raps about folding their laundry n shit.

Nah I have heard him saying he liked Cole,plus Cole is with Jay and Mal is tight with Jay

Not saying he’s right at all but

The only J Cole show I ever been to, was back when he was still on the come up. I believe FNL had either just dropped or was about to drop.

I had bought the tickets a few weeks before, but didn’t realize till I got there that the venue was a white frat house. I only saw one other black person there but he was on some token shit.

It was probably a solid 200-250 people there but these mfs rapped along with every single word. So while his fan base is not only collegiate white boys, they definitely have always loved the shit out that nigga.
