First let me admit that I am not an avid TV watcher and I don’t listen to the Radio and when I do it is Roots. But the last week or so I am started noticing a couple of things. There seems to be a high number of interracial couples in commercials. There also seems to be a lot of commercials with same sex couples in them. Then while watching a comic book related show one of the characters is involved in a same sex relationship. Admittedly, I live in a vacuum but if everyone is living in a world where everything is acceptable, why are will still so messed up as a society? Is there really an agenda? Do you think that writers and producers feel like they have to put these characters in their shows, music or is it that the music or dhow is a reflection of overall society. Again I will admit that I don’t interact with many people personally.

ill keep it short both.
tv/music/film/radio have immense influential power

This. especially for folks in foreign countries.

I've seen numerous times folks say they learned English from watching shows and movies.

And for better or worse they also get an idea of what we're like based on those movies or tv shows.

But I don’t see this imagery when traveling or at least it is not in your face as much. But again my sample size is small because I don’t watch a lot of TV.

Its all narratives being pushed depending on the source..certain outlets push certain things...living in Hi, im kinda removes from alotta stuff on the continent especially since i dont watch alotta tv myself, but in the chance i do, i notice people doing things or behaving a certain way based off of things on tv.

As more things are deemed acceptable by the majority, the more it’s reflected in entertainment. It’s clever marketing, and also inevitable. There will always be a substantial percentage of people who desire the status quo however despite changing times.

I literally just got rid of cable yesterday because of the dumb shit on t.v. and working 11 hrs a day. Same shit different channel. Sports arent even appealing to me as much as before. Netflix works for me just because the most of their original shows entertain me, unlike the reality shit on cable

Short simple answer to this part of your question is the 3 letter word:

SIN

Why and how?

answer:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Amen.

Indoctrination of social acceptance despite your beliefs. Everybody wants to feel needed/wanted and we are going to FORCE you to change your idea of what is acceptable in society.

To answer the title they both reflect each other and it's a cycle like when two mirrors reflect each other it looks infinite. But imo it all started with tv/radio and us being reflections of its narrative.

Even when artists say "I'm just a mirror" they're still just reflecting back a narrative or elements of a social condition (poverty/struggling/street shit/broken homes/etc.) A condition that was and is intentionally created and reinforced by all forms of media.

I may be wrong but the reason radio and television went public in the first place was to push a narrative to the masses. Ultimately the goal was to give us information that keeps us in formation.

Cosign the high volume of interracial couples and offspring on adverts and same sex couples... Living in Britain with high levels of interracial coupledom thats probably the norm

I saw an advert with a Black family though by IKEA, the furniture giants, Swedish for that matter and was highly impressed

I thought I was the only one who noticed that the vast majority of commercials feature interracial couples and mixed kids. Its overkill and kinda annoying.

There was a Florida Keys travel commercial that aired the other night that had everything except a couple that was man and women of different sexes and the same race. Someone had to go out of their way to create that. I know everyone wants inclusion but has regular hetero sexual same race relationships become a thing of the past. Also, I am not relying to offend anyone in a same sex or interracial relationship.

sounds like something i would write or say.....

but i think people think with their eyes and not with their head.

too many people want to belong to something....so they allow what they see or think is cool to program them into wanting to be that.

i can get deeper but im tired at the moment

ok im not tired now.

thing is...
tv was created for purposes of entertainment....like radio and smoke signals and shit.

but i think what happened is people got bored with their life and wanted to live what they were seeing on tv.

big brother seen this and started to plant seeds in the minds of those glued to the media.

the more shows they create that shows you dont have to do shit to get ahead.....the more people dont want to do shit to get ahead.

from the shows the music and the videos....everyone wants to live like whats being planted in their brain.

it takes a mentally capable person to see past the shit. i wont say strong minded because its not that hard.....

niggas just cant think for themselves no more.

the dumb following the dumb and too dumb to know the nigga they following is dumber than them.

hence....thats why we have social media causing depression.

people take 1000 pics to get the right pic of them looking happy or living the life when they really arent...but no one truly knows....only knowing what the person posts....then when they compare it to their life..they feel like they are left out....so then they create one and start the cycle over again.

everybody on social got guns, money and drugs and in front of a car.

none of them nigga post titles or deeds or bank statements with their names on it.

other than that...niggas should assume its borrowed unless they know them personally.
