COMMUNITY Is There Such Thing As Inalienable Rights?

NeighborhoodNomad

the marathon continues........
As human beings are there any inalienable rights we have? What are they?

in·al·ien·a·ble
/inˈālēənəb(ə)l/
adjective
  1. unable to be taken away from or given away by the possessor.
"freedom of religion, the most inalienable of all human rights"
    synonyms: inviolable, absolute, sacrosanct;

In the literal sense? Of course not

We not entitled to a damn thing

If we talking ideals that’s where it gets foggy

Why do you think we're not entitled to anything?

Is everyone not entitled to (healthy) food, clothing and a decent place to live?

Nope

Depending on where you’re born you might get that impression....but you could also be born somewhere remote where each person/family has to fend for themselves

Nobody "deserves" life. Like we didn't pay for or ask for or sign up for this experience. This life was given to each of us for free. So how isn't everyone entitled to the best this life has to offer?

Can you give some real life examples of how a human being isn't entitled to food or adaquate shelter?

I don’t see what any of that has to do with what I said

Nobody is entitled to life or anything that comes with it. That meteor could hit any second. Societies try to create a more comfortable situation (food, shelter, etc) but no one is even entitled to be part of a society.

I'm not speaking about society's entitlements I'm speaking about an individual's rights. The point I was trying to make earlier we all have life undeservedly already but here we are. Now since we're here we're "entitled" to the things this life has to offer and especially its basic necessities. I may not be entitled to your home but as a living being I am entitled to some form of adequate shelter.

Can you give me a real life example of how a human being or any living being for that matter isn't entitled to the basic necessities like food and a decent shelter? I don't understand how your meteor reference applies here.
