There's no age limit to looking to someone older or who has experience in an area and being open to their advice on how to navigate things. That should be normal. I'd find it odd if a person thinks so highly of themselves that they're above being mentored in any way at all.

Prior to the modern era, most men lived their entire lives in some form of apprenticeship/mentorship with older, experienced men. From the Samurai to the Sharecropper.

Makes sense that the poorest, least fathered group of people on earth would have these identity crises where you turn into an all-knowing alphanigga at some arbitrary age like 35. This is why the “elders” are MIA.
