Poll Is Run DMC A Top 5 Rap Group?

They're pioneers but I feel that other groups have passed them since the 80's

I'm basing it off my top 5.

In Reggae, there's Bob Marley and then there's everybody else.
During the mid 80s Run DMC was to Hip Hop what Bob Marley was to Reggae. Run DMC was one of the few groups to drop an album in 84, 85, and 86 (The Fat Boys are the only other group I can think of)
They were also the only Hip Hop artist to get heavy rotation on MTV.
While Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 came first, they broke up at their peak. Also, the Furious 5 dressed like punk rockers which kinda threw us off. We didn't want to be like the Furious 5, we wanted to be like Run DMC.
Also, Run DMC was the first group to drop a 5 mic classic with their self titled album.
Having said all of that, I'm voting yes, even though deep down inside there's probably 5 groups I'd rsther listen to.
I'd rate The Last Poets and the Furious 5 over Run DMC but since they have no chance on ABW I'll vote for Run DMC.

It's simple, Votes have 4 top 5 already...without Outkast so by default there is no space for RUN DMC
