What's Goin On is my absolute favorite album in any genre. Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, James Brown, Barry White, Stevie Wonder, etc. all made great, excellent, genre defining music, but none of them have an album as good as What's Goin On.


Having said that, I can't think of who else Marvin produced outside of his own albums, but I'm voting yes on the strength of What's Goin On.

Here's a list of songs he produced. Mostly Motown stuff. I guess besides his own music, he was a typical producer. He had some jawns in the Motown era that were hits but his best work is the stuff he produced for himself.
