Is It Stupid To Rap About Spending Your Money On Expensive Things?

5 Grand

Old School Godfather
Rappers say they spent $100k on a watch, or $200k on a car.

Does that make sense?

How about rapping about donating money to the local school system?

Or providing legal services to people in your community that need legal assistance?

Shit is typically just a persona like WWE

The record label bought that shit

The people who think it’s all real are the stupid ones

The music business hate me 'cause the industry ain't make me
Hustlers and boosters embrace me and the music I be making
I dumb down for my audience and double my dollars
They criticize me for it yet they all yell "Holla"
If skills sold truth be told,
I'd probably be, lyrically Talib Kweli
Truthfully I want to rhyme like Common Sense (But I did five Mil)
I ain't been rhyming like Common since
When your sense got that much in common
And you been hustling since, your inception, fuck perception
Go with what makes sense
Since I know what I'm up against
We as rappers must decide what's most important
And I can't help the poor if I'm one of them
So I got rich and gave back to me that's the win, win
The next time you see the homie and his rims spin
Just know my mind is working just like them (The rims that is)

I think most rappers aren't that skilled to rap about real life struggles. Plus, most successful rappers avoided the "conscious" route. People want to here about that kind of materialistic bullishit.

This isn't a knock on Jay, he's one of the exceptions.

Why can't they continue to rap about the first part and actually do the the second?

Nope.

It's a whole world if fakers in the burbs and abroad.

Them people ain't got it like talk think.

But me......fuck I look like not stunting?
Nights told me to wear a mask....I said ok
I'm about to start a facemask selling company......fuck what ya heard.

All the way up

Should they actually be donating more and making good investments? Probably

Does that mean it would make for good songs? Probably not

Hip hop has a huge party and fun element to it that's why ignorant shit is popular aint nobody trying to hear wutang financial bars
