COMMUNITY Is Education An Inalienable Right?

There’s a reason they would like illiterate people. They used this against blacks during slavery. There was also a literacy test that if you couldn’t complete in 10 min or even got one wrong, you failed and were considered below a certain grade level. I think we had a thread on this on the IC a long time ago.

Everyone should be given equal opportunity, period. What’s good for one is good for all. They can yap their mouths tiredlessly about unmotivated and bad kids. Changing their school environment; improved buildings, more books, more technology etc will be the boosts they need to be successful graduates. They don’t want them like that for a reason. It’s times like this I really wish I was a very rich man. This shit is sad. Schools should fundraise for other schools, not for fucking wasted field trips.

problem with this is....people are trying to float here to get apart of what we choose to not ultilize..

i used to hear so many niggas talk about they dont want to learn HIStory ....ok but thats one subject. what about math and the sciences?

you have to play by the rules in order to take over the game

How can you "play by the(ir)" rules if you can't even read?

People aren't coming to this country to learn how to read the English language.

Didn't think of this as inalienable in the other thread but it SHOULD be also

Understood but that's off topic. My main question to you is How can people here play by the rules if they can barely read?
whats stopping someone in the states from reading?

im curious.

all the dr suess books and internet....what reason should someone have to not be able to read?

It can be several reasons but to start poor school systems and a poor quality of living at home. Some folks are not being encouraged to read.

It might sound crazy but I didn't independently start reading books until my late teens. Tupac made it cool for me to read. He introduced a young me to books like the "The Art of War" and "Machiavelli the Prince". Not my teachers or my peers.

Are you suggesting people aren't reading out of defiance?

Not every home is equipped with literature or encourage it. It's a fact.
Just like every home ain't equipped in mathematics or science. Or the internet for that matter

School should be another place to nurture these basic societal principles.

If the school is not encouraging it and you ain't/can't get it from home......
