The Native Tounges were groundbreaking because they didn't claim to be Alpha Males, meaning they didn't shoot wack MCs, they didn't have girls lined up to suck their dicks. They weren't so rich they burned money instead of firewood. They didn't drive around in Bentleys and wear fat gold chains.
But their beats and rhymes were just as good as the so-called Alpha Males.
But A Tribe Called Quest was better.
De La isn't in my top 5 but they did change the landscape.
Three Feet High & Rising was a groundbreaking album. And their first 4 albums were solid.
