Welcome To aBlackWeb

Insects/Animals Horror stories thread.

I own tarantulas, as they outgrow their housing tanks you have to transfer them into more suitable housing.

Some transfer with no issues, others can move 10 feet in the blink of an eye.

One day I had to transfer my Pterinochilus murinus, commonly known to collectors as OBT (orange bitey thing), generally have a highly defensive disposition with an highly potent venom.

Above video displays a typical OBT in threat posture striking at thin air.

Well mid transfer of my around 5” tarantula it bolted outta the tank and outta site before I could even figure what had happened. Couldn’t see it anywhere until I caught a glimpse in the mirror to see it on my back, I think my heart may have stopped for a split second if he bit me I’m going to hospital for a week at minimum.

Luckily for me it was in a fairly decent mood and I could coax it around slowly but surely and an hour or so later the transfer was done.

In the moment knowing how capable it was of tagging me multiple times and having some serious venom to pack along with it I was sweating bullets.

Back around when I was in high school, my dad tells me to go cut the front yard grass. Starting cuttin the front, then I moved to the grass on the side of the house. As I'm cuttin, I feel something sting me in the back of my head. Then again...then again some more. By this time I'm already yellin in pain and runnin my azzz off back inside the house.

Soon as I got inside, my Dad comes to see what the problem was. When I told him, he looks at the back my head and sees multiple knots. So he goes outside where I orginally got attacked at. Come to find out...I ran over a hornets nest that was in the ground, and didn't even see it. That's why they started attacking. Smh.

Next day at school, the knots swoll up even more. Shyt was noticable to b/c one of my friends pointed it out. I didn't need to go to the hospital. My dad just rubbed some alcohol on my head, and the swelling went down days later. But man after that...a brotha was nervous cuttin around that side ever since.

On a pain scale of 1-10 what was the pain for you?

i ran like forest when the leg braces came off

It was the eighth grade. End of the year field trip.

They said, “Kandy don’t jump on that bridge, it’s wasps over there.”

I said, “I didn’t care.”

Proceeded to jump on that bridge, got stung like BLOCKA! BLOOP! ZAP! and took off running.

They said, “we told you!”

I say 9. The pain of that 1st sting was instant. There was no delay like "Ow. Gee wonder what was that?" No.

After that 1st sting...my brain instantly said "...run". It was a wrap after that
