If an artist wanted to sample your song?

I was listening to a convo on this on SeriusXM and the process was very interesting, they got into whether they would let anyone sample their music, and how they would charge them (if at all).

You can't stop somebody from sampling your song.

But you can try to sue them after the fact.

But if your song is a sample from a 70s record and they rap over your beat...

It depends on the lyrical content.

If you ask for 50% the person might say, "never mind" and use another beat

If you ask for 25% the person is more likely to agree.

But if the person is talking about killing niggas and selling crack, I might charge more, or say "no"
