How Come GZA's Career Didn't Take Off?

His first album was damn near flawless. I'd give it 4.5 mics.

Lyrically he's just about as good as it gets.

Yeah, maybe he didn't have the flair that Method Man or Ghostface had, but aside from Liquid Swords I'm not sure of anything he did after that.

I've literally never heard anything he did outside of Liquid Swords, and that was a classic.

These. Both Gza and Masta Killa are nice on the mic, but neither of them have the flow or energy to be stars.

Started putting out albums with horrible beats

He put all his chips on lyrics and said fuck beats and during those mid ‘90’s albums seemingly all having hard/dope beats…he got lost in tha sauce

Buuuut Liquid Swords is a classic album…top 10 to me
