I wouldnt say 'Southern' is really a sub genre though @AllElite617... Southern rappers make all genres of hip hop conscious, gangsta, backpack, trap etc

'Crunk' is (or was) prolly a sub genre thats pretty exclusive to the South, albeit one that was a brief moment in hip hop abit like 'Hyphy' for The Bay...

'Horrorcore' is a sub genre thats been going along time that continues to have a good following...

There are sooooooo many sub genres which is why I never understand why folks on here be wanting everything to be the same or sound a way.

You know, I was just thinking the other day and realized I’m beginning to consider accepting “Dilla” as a kind of sub-genre of its own within the space. It’s been one my favorite sounds for a the past decade.

I like G Funk also, like the kind Battle Cat does. The traditional Boom Bap sound too, but with electronic instruments/keyboards is the play too but I don’t know what it’s called. Of course I grew up on all the flavors of the south but outgrew most of them.
