When Mos Def is trying, hes untouchable. Crazy how I was listening to his verse Rising Down with the Roots on repeat today. Shit is amazing how he talking about roads as a metaphor for life.

Every anywhere: heights, plains, peaks or valleys
Entrances, exits, vestibules and alleys
Winding roads that test the firm nerve
Fortune or fatal behind the blind curve
The engine oil purr, lights flash to a blur
Speed work through the Earth, make your motor go 'scurrr'

Nah, Quality is just as good

Respectfully disagree bruh...I really like Quality but Iā€™ve never heard it even brought up as ā€œclassicā€ status...Black on Both Sides has been called a classic by a few people...me included

I really like both of them, but i always felt Mos Def was way better. I like a majority of Mos' albums more than Kweli's. I love Quality, The Beautiful Struggle, Eardrum, and A Train of Thought by Kweli, but Black On Both Sides or The Ecstatic would be played before any of them.

Agree with everyone saying Kweli is more consistent though. Thats without doubt. Despite liking Mos Def much more, i always check out new Kweli. Hate Kweli's flow sometimes though.
