In the 70s and 80s they were still playing instruments.

By the 90s you could have an R&B group that doesn't play instruments, without any instruments being played on the whole album, just drum machines and synthesizers.

Music is inherently better when its made by musicians that understand musical theory.


I mean, Come And Talk To Me (remix) by Jodeci was dope because it had the EPMD beat, but that type of music wouldn't fly in the 70s.
