Friday Night Smackdown Thread: 9/20

if they’re doing a brand vs brand war games at SS i hope there’s something at stake like the winning brand drafting talent from NXT, drafting a talent away from the losing brand, etc.

hopefully this company can actually commit to a brand split but i’m not getting my hopes up

- Nick Aldis continued his producing duties on Smackdown, and will work in that role while appearing as an on screen GM.

- Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis' promo was intended to be a reference to WWE's plans to run War Games, which was the plan as of a few weeks ago. We're working to find out if that's still the active plan.

- As mentioned last night, John Cena is slated for the next two Smackdowns, as there's a double taping next week ahead of the Saudi trip. We'll work to learn more about his future.

- WWE had previously planned on the Logan Paul- Dillon Danis face off for this show, and had no concerns whatsoever that Logan would emerge victorious over Dillon to set up this match.

Smackdown Producers:

- LA Knight-Paul Heyman promo: Michael Hayes

- Santos Escobar vs. Montez Ford: Jason Jordan

- John Cena and Solo Sikoa segment: Michael Hayes
