It depends on the fries.

I'm a strong proponent of tasting any food initially the way it is prepared and served to me. Once I've given the item a taste I adjust (add what i think it's missing) accordingly.

I rarely use ketchup on anything and if I do use it for fries I put it on the side of the fries and dip the fries.
