FoC: Allegiance to the hood.

Why do alot of us defend the hood so fiercely?
why do we brag about being from places where killing is a daily thing...like its a badge of honor?

is this badge helping you in life?
Is this badge a fear tactic to scare off others, letting them know you tough?
Why is it a place to go back to to show you didnt rise above the other, when you did?
To make it out but want to show you are still the same dilutes the message of becoming better.
shouldnt the message be, to try your best and you can make it out?

and why is making it out a bad thing? if you are not a rapper or athlete...its not always received well. and even with those selected few....its sometimes met with hate.

Yet, theirs still people who have a life long allegiance to the hood.


Why is this and how can we fix it.

It's home. It's where you came up, where you're always welcome if shit happens in life and you need to regroup, it's where family and friends are.

The impoverished inner-city is for low income people....

People who can't afford to live in a better environment.

Really know reason to go back to a poverty stricken, high crime area if you are fortunate enough to make it out.


If you can afford a nice, late model luxury vehicle, you aint gonna be rollin' around in a '75 Pinto that needs a new transmission.
