According to reports, a Florida man was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank, then using a taxi service for his getaway vehicle.
Elijah Shelton, 24, ordered a car from Johnny on the Spot Taxi Service to take him to a local bank which he robbed for $8,300. “Elijah Shelton, who after this will be referred to as ‘the genius,’ decides he wants to rob a bank in Santa Rosa County,” said Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson. “Normally, you grab a fast car so you can get away and everything. He calls a cab to his house.”
When Shelton arrived, he told the taxi to stay put as he went inside to rob the bank. After staging the robbery, Shelton demanded the taxi driver to take him back home. “Elijah Shelton, who after this will be referred to as ‘the genius,’ decides he wants to rob a bank in Santa Rosa County,” said Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson. “Normally, you grab a fast car so you can get away and everything. After being apprehended, Shelton was charged with robbery, grand theft, and drug possession.
