No you just put a little over 1/4 of seeds in 700 ml of water and let it boil, stir it and once it looks kinda like snot, take it off the heat and let it cool.

BAM! I'm about to use it on my wash n go as soon as I get back home.

When making it, it smelled like oatmeal to me. After it cools down it didn't smell like anything.
