I been said DBZ became the Saiyan show once they got to the Saiyan saga. After that there was no point of you being around if you weren't a Saiyan. You wasn't gonna beat anyone. That's why the garlic Jr saga is so underrated. They actually had to strategize to win that. No deus ex with Goku or Vegeta.

Nail could’ve had constant issues with vegeta since he killed namekians and over time they eventually become cordial enough to bury the hatchet as part of their character arcs

Could’ve been a brother to piccolo as he helps him get closer to his roots
