Darius Thomas is one of three men who were allegedly responsible for the Montgomery nightclub shooting that killed Timnarius Hamilton, Kimberle Johnson, and rapper Glenn "Doe B" Thomas. Doe B was on the rise to fame as he was signed to T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records. On Wednesday (January 10), Thomas was sentenced to 85 years in prison for the murders, after pleading guilty to and accepting a plea deal in December.

During his trial in December, Thomas apologized to the mothers of his victims. The shooting happened at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill in December of 2013. Thomas is the first of the three men arrested for the crime to stand trial. His co-defendants Taboris Mock and Jason McWilliams do not have set trial dates and are currently out on bond.

The mothers - Ms. Green, Mrs. Thomas (no relation to Darius), and Mrs. Hamilton - all accepted Thomas' apology and offered him forgiveness. Separate from this gesture, the mothers wanted Thomas to face the maximum amount of jail time for the murder of their children.

Thomas has been in jail since he was arrested in 2014, at the time his fiancee was four months pregnant totaling their family size to five children. At 29-years-old, Thomas is likely to die in prison. Had he not plead guilty, he would have likely received life without the chance of parole. According to court documents, Thomas became involved in the altercation at the club that night after someone threw a bottle at him.
