The bigger names that didn't want to do it most likely either didn't like the early IG live format or just don't like doing free performances (although Swizz and Timb turned it into a paid show now)

It started out as an appreciation of the artists' catalog and has progressed into fans wanting a great performance to go along with said catalog. I actually look at the Lox/Dipset show as a good sign for other artists wanting to participate after seeing how much love the Lox got from all the fans.
