It's not that weird of a match-up when you think about it. Both albums are from artists that, at the time of the album releases, were believed to be rappers first and foremost. Both album have a rap base, but veer significantly away from rap. Both albums have the rare distinction of being Hip Hop (influenced at the very least) albums that won Album of the Year grammies despite not really being Hip Hop albums in the truest sense (though TLB was half of a double album with the other half being a more traditional Hip Hop album).
