This beat isn't wack, but it has NO BASS.

It was cool at the time because most producers weren't using 808 kick in the mid 80s, but compared to some of the other songs that came out that summer (Peter Piper and One Love to name a few) South Bronx had a sparse basic beat.

The lyrics make South Bronx what it is, not the beat.






Still a classic song though.
