Def Jam is an institution that's recognized all over the world so I guess that's a good thing.
But I don't think Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen or even Jay Z have anything to do with Def Jam anymore.
Does anybody know if Def Jam is still a thing or were they a hot Hip Hop label 20 years ago?
I mean, I remember in the 80s when people were being signed to Motown, but in hindsight that meant nothing.
