The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports Bayer has recalled certain Alka-Seltzer Plus packages due to the risk that the ingredients listed might not match the ingredients inside the actual product.

Products affected by this recall were sold in the U.S. at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, and more across the country, starting after Feb. 9. Bayer does not have the voluntary recall listed on its website or social media accounts. Those affected include the Alka-Seltzer Plus packages that feature the Bayer logo on the lower left front corner with the green or orange logo. Those with the white logo are not included in the recall.

"The ingredients listed on the front sticker of the carton may potentially be different from the ingredients listed on the back of the carton," the FDA release reads. "This may lead consumers to ingest a product to which they may have an allergy or anaphylactic reaction, an ingredient which may be contraindicated for their medical condition or they intend to otherwise avoid.

"There may be potential for serious health consequences."

There are no known reports of someone becoming ill related to the recall. The company reports it is notifying retailers by email and certified mail to set up the return of all the recalled products. Those who bought the affected products are asked to stop using it and to contact Bayer at 1-800-986-0369.
