Who are artists that you slept on at first but ended up liking?

Who are artists you never will get the hype for?

Never understood the hype for Lil Wayne.

I've been reading the Lil Wayne/Kendrick thread. I didn't know Lil Wayne was still around.

MF DOOM
Madlib

I remember one of my cousins playing their music around me when I was 12-13 years old and I thought shit was trash. I was more into Desert Storm and D-Block mixtapes - Fab, A-Team, Paul Cain, LOX, Snype Lyfe type shit.

Now Madlib is one of my favorite producers and I like a lot of DOOM's music.
Yeah I remember one of my homies used to hype up MF Doom when he first came out.

I didn't understand the point, he was kinda the anti-Jay Z artist at the time.

But I've been listening to him alot lately.

i slept on K.R.I.T. early on, my cousins was really into him and i just couldn't do it

i don't remember when it clicked for me (around Cadillactica) but most of his music dont fit in with most music.

you kinda have to listen to his albums to appreciate the songs. i remember the KRIT vs Currensy argument lol and its no comparison, apples to chicken nuggets. no diss to either. to each his own

50 & Ross

I didn't like the hype around them at first, but they gradually grew on me.

I've grown to like the singing Drake.

I slept on Jeezy at first. Didn’t get the hype. Wasn’t until The Inspiration that I became a fan.

I still don’t get niggas admiration for Future.

Slept on J Cole at first (wasn't he posting on the IC at some point???). Ran across "False Prophets" and was like "yoooooo!".

Never understood the hype for Wayne, Future, Lil Yachty, TI, Jeezy, Ross, and, to be quite honest, the majority of the cats coming out from about the mid 00's to present. And none of the chicks aside from Jean Grae and Rapsody
